I thought I'd start off this year with a look back at the best part of last year! I can't believe it's already been 4 months since our wedding - there was such a build up, with almost two years of engagement and planning, that once it arrived, it was gone in a flash. I absolutely loved the idea of organizing an event for our friends and family (and for us!). There are so many variables with almost 200 people involved and we managed to pull it off without any major disasters (most people would consider running out of whiskey only a minor hiccup).
I learned so much from going through the process and, while there are definitely things I would do differently if I got the chance, I am so pleased with the outcome. We had the best time catching up, laughing, drinking, and dancing with friends and family. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us and to my wonderful husband who put up with me the entire time (and who probably won't be reading this).
I've decided to show you the wedding in a series of five parts. The first is a highlight reel - snippets of little moments that defined the day.
I hope you enjoyed these incredible photos by Hugh Whitaker. He is so talented. He also shot our engagement photos (you can see some of those here). I loved Hugh's style right off the bat - he captures candid beautiful moments that are more like art prints than your typical staged wedding photo. If you're in the GTA, I would highly recommend him (or his wife!).
Stay tuned for the next wedding post: a look into our wedding party and what we all wore on the big day (with more gorgeous photos by Hugh!).
